Sweet Dreams

Nothing beats a deep night’s sleep.

But in a world of chaos, quality sleep seems to be a luxury that only a few partake.

The most common directives given by instructors, per se, are: relax and breathe, count sheep, quiet the mind or meditate.

Well, that’s easier said than done.

You have to find what works especially for you.

But until you try different strategies, you’ll never know.

Here’s what works for me:

  1. Turning my cell phone’s “do not disturb” mode on
  2. Playing my sleep music playlist
  3. Thinking about all the loveliness I’ve experienced
  4. Feeling the love on the deepest level

And voilà, I am out like a light.

I hope you find your way to a restful slumber.

Turning Gray Skies Blue

Without exception, everybody gets hit with shit. Some succumb to the pressure. Others barely survive. Why? Because, they’ve lost their muchness. Well, that’s what The Mad Hatter said to Alice: “You’ve lost your muchness. In there (pointing to her belly), something’s missing.”

What’s missing in your life?

Sure, it is beyond wonderful to have that particular someone in your life who, without fail, creates beautiful ballads from bad rhymes; who turns your frown upside down; who extends unrelenting support; whose energy cocoons you and transmits new life; whose silent love imbues strength.

But what if that special person is not available or are no longer here on earth?

There is a reason that your peace is deeply disturbed or that your boat is at the brink of a shipwreck. And until you realize and exercise your own strength, you may be kept in the storm.

So, where is your muchness?

There is a smoldering in your belly. When ignited, it becomes a powerful flame that can never be extinguished no matter what life douses.

The strength you need already exists inside of you.

Do you have the guts to light it? Because no one else, no matter how lovely, is capable of lighting your fire.

Do You Ever…

Sit outside just to listen to the sounds of nature?

Take a stroll and have a person-to-person conversation?

Notice a budding tree right before her bloom?

Dance in the rain?

Bask in the sunlight?

Stretch out your arms to embrace the wind?

Number things to be thankful for?

Find the positives when the negatives seemingly overpower?

Look up?

Laugh at little things?

Cry just because?

I was just wondering.

A Vision of Loveliness

D5FBB370-CCFA-4664-B6A5-A6F63C39B5F8

Hey Pretty Girl,

IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!

Exactly 20 years ago today, I gave birth to a vision of loveliness.

You are truly rare, exquisite and beautiful. You are a living masterpiece, a breathing work of art.

Your free-thinking mind is extraordinary. Your love runs deep. Your sense of humor is quick-witted and amusing. Your wisdom is stellar. Your creativity is extravagant. Your style is elegant. Your determination is unrelenting. Your stick-to-itiveness is astounding. Your character is splendid. Your smile is brilliant. Your laughter is jubilant. Your face is dreamy. Your energy is enchanting.

I am overjoyed that you are my daughter, my friend, my road kitten, my ride or die, the other pea in the pod, the other frozen popsicle on the double stick, my fraternal twin… (Laughing). We are forever the Dynamic Duo!!

On this day, you officially graduate from teen-hood. But, it was your first nineteen years, with all the ups, downs, turnabouts and moving arounds, that taught you what no amount of schooling could. It also gave you strengths undreamed of.

“There is no tomorrow!” (Smile) Your time is now and it is fantastic!

You are ready. The world is waiting.

Release the Kraken! Better yet, Release the Magic!

HAPPY TWENTIETH JUSTICE REIGN!!  I LOVE YOU!!!

Perfect Confessions

FA7CA533-8AEE-4D62-80BC-53BAFC28A4E8

Perfection has absolutely nothing to do with physical attributes, other than the fact that whatever you’re born with is downright flawless.

Thus, striving for perfection, in the physical sense, is an unnecessary burden. It leads to stress and dumbass decisions like butchering your body via plastic surgery for the sole purpose of cosmetic vanity.

Incidentally, no amount of surgery will keep you looking young and pretty. If truth be told, altering your bone structure and getting injections to obtain the perfect look actually ages you tremendously. You cannot one-up Father Time. However, there’s something exquisitely beautiful, dazzling and elegant about a man or woman who accepts and adores his or her body; and ages gracefully without going under the knife.

“Your face is marked with lines of life, put there by love and laughter, suffering and tears. It’s beautiful.” ~Lynsay Sands

“Youth is a gift of nature, but age is a work of art.” ~Stanislaw Jerzy Lec

So, tell me, what makes you perfect?

Do you subscribe to someone else’s meaning or do you have your own? Does your meaning give you anxiety? Does it cause stress or depression? If so, then simply change your connotation of the word. You do not have to abide by anyone else’s definition!

Here’s my take.

My notion of perfection has an air of lightness and loveliness. For me, perfection and love are cut from the same cloth. And like love, perfection is a verb. It is a doing with a particular quality.

Perfection is:

Loving myself entirely

A deep embrace

Playfulness and laughter

Being there

Sharing

Knowing when to say, “no”

Knowing when to let go

Living my truth no matter who’s watching

Performing at my very best

So, unburden yourself with society’s standard of perfection and devise your own. You’ll enjoy life a whole lot better!

Riddle Me This

34CD18C3-AD53-4BDF-A61A-8B6698FAC012

If we are born of God, Source, Universe, Consciousness or whatever esteemed name you fancy, then we must be an exact replica of the Original enveloping all of what that One Entity constitutes, right?

Do you have any idea the qualities that shape God? Qualities that you’ve actually encountered firsthand and not what you’ve read or heard?

For me, the One Entity, who existed before time and space, is exquisitely beautiful, marvelously magical, profoundly loving, perfectly healthy, perpetually giving, extraordinarily happy, otherworldly creative, inconceivably intelligent, mind-blowingly strong, uncommonly wealthy, remarkably valiant, supremely spontaneous, awesomely adventurous, and wondrously safe and secure. Consequently, I must be all of these things too. After all, we are equal.

And, as I sit and contemplate my complete being—spirit, soul and body, I place extra attention on my spirit which only exists as perfection. The more I acknowledge my spirit, the more access I give it to heal my body, to perform miracles, to be happy, to live magically and to be all of those qualities I deem of God.

So, when will you spend time honoring and celebrating your spirit? It is patiently and lovingly waiting for your “hello.”

Live Magically,

Coley
